Tournament Age Restrictions
To be age eligible for this tournament, a player must be 35 years of age on or before the day of the tournament.
Tournament Age Divisions
- Cage Division: suggested for teams playing OT5/OT6 or equivalent
- Rising Division: suggested for teams playing OT3/OT4 or equivalent
- Prima Division: suggested for teams playing OT1/OT2 or equivalent

Cash Prizes
The cash prize system is fully dependent on a sliding scale system based on the number of teams entered.
16 Teams
- 1st place: $700
- 2nd place: $350
8 Teams
- 1st place: $350
- 2nd place: $175
Cash prize winners will be paid out via cash on hand at the conclusion of tournament, or, etransfer made within three (3) days of conclusion of tournament from a Volta Cage Soccer representative.
Games
- Each team must ensure that each player can present a government form of issued identification for every game to prove that each player meets the age requirement.
- The tournament will provide game sheets for all games.
- All games will consist of two 12 minute halves and a 2 minute half time. The referee will be the official timekeeper. All decisions regarding the game’s duration are at the referee’s discretion.
- Time may be shortened in order to conclude the game within its allotted field time.
- Time may be extended if the referee determines that one of the teams is wasting time.
- Please arrive at the field ready to play, 30 minutes prior to kickoff. We will do our best to kick off games at the scheduled time.
- Tournament will provide game balls.
- Players must wear numbered jerseys that coincide with their game sheet.
- Where opposing team’s uniform colors are similar, the designated home team will change. A set of pinnies will be provided by the Site Official if required.
Protests
We value your concerns. Protests will be entertained if delivered to the Site Official within 1 hour after the completion of the game in question. Protests must be written and accompanied with the protest fee of $100.00 which will be refunded should the protest in question be deemed to be valid.
Substitutions
- Unlimited on-the-fly substitutions shall be allowed from the team gate located at each team bench. The player MUST leave the field of play before the substitution player enters the field of play. For the first infringement of this playing rule, a team is given a warning. For any subsequent offenses, the offending team shall designate any player from the team to serve a two (2) minute penalty.
- The team gate MUST be closed at all times during play except for when making substitutions.
- If the ball leaves the field of play by an open gate during a substitution, the ball goes to the opposition keeper to restart play.
Score Reporting
It is the responsibility of the Referee to deliver the completed and signed game sheet to the Site Official promptly at the conclusion of each game.
Conduct
- Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the Laws of the Game. Displays of temper or dissent are cause for ejection from the game and the surrounding field area. Repeated violations may result in the suspension of the team from the tournament as decided by the Site Officials and Tournament Directors.
- It is the responsibility of the Team to control the conduct of its spectators. Failure to do so may result in a warning to the coach or the person acting on the coach's behalf by the Referee. If unacceptable conduct continues, the Referee may terminate the match. If the match is terminated due to spectator conduct, the Team will be dismissed from the tournament.
Format
Each team will be assigned to a division and scheduled 3 games. At the conclusion of the group stage/ round robin matches, the team in each division with the most points will either be declared champions or progress to the next round, dependent on the tournament, such as semis or finals.
For each match, a team will be awarded points, as follows:
- Three points for a win
- One point for a tie
- Zero points for a loss
In any division where there is a tie, the following tie-breaker will be used to determine the champion:
- Team with greatest +/- goal differential
- Team with most goals for
- Team with least goals against
- Team with the most shutouts/ clean sheets
- Winner of head-to-head competition
- Least amount of cards received
- Coin toss
Failure To Show And Forfeits
- A team shall be allowed a ten-minute grace period after the scheduled kick-off time before the match is awarded to their opponent.
- A forfeit shall be awarded to the opposing team. The score will be recorded as a 2-0 win.
- A team which forfeits a game cannot be declared a group winner or advance to the next round.
- If a team is the cause for termination of a game, that team will be considered to have forfeited that game. The determination as to which team is the cause for the termination shall be at the sole discretion of the Referee.
- If a team deliberately forfeits a game they will be removed from the tournament and all previous results will be reversed to a 2-0 loss.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, the Site Official or official representative(s) will have the authority to:
- Reschedule game(s), dependent on availability (later time, alternate date)
- Change the duration of any game(s)
- Deem that a game is complete after reaching the halfway point
General
- Under no circumstances whatsoever will Volta Cage Soccer, or any of its official Volta Cage Soccer representatives, be responsible for any expenses incurred by any team. This includes a situation whereby the Tournament or any game(s) is canceled in whole or part.
- Volta Cage Soccer and its representatives’ interpretation of the rules shall be final pertaining to this Tournament.
- Volta Cage Soccer, or any of its official Volta Cage Soccer representatives, will not be liable for any injuries sustained by any participant in the tournament on or off the field.
Refund Policy
- Upon acceptance, the team’s entry fee is non-refundable. If your team is accepted and later withdraws, the entry fee is non-refundable.
- If the tournament is canceled due to events beyond the control of Volta Cage Soccer, Volta Cage Soccer will not be required to make any financial compensation in excess of refund of the tournament fee paid to Volta Cage Soccer.
